Genius

I want to share a conversation I overheard this morning. Paul was trying to load a computer game and was having problems.
Paul: Why won't this work?
Mark: Let me take a look.
Paul: Why? You're not a genius...yet.
Mark: Not yet, but maybe I'm smart enough now to help.
Paul: Oh ya? I'm going to be a scientist and I'll be really smart.
Mark: Oh ya? I'm ...
Mom cutting in: You're both smart. How about working on being nice now?
Mark and Paul: Sorry Mom.

I love that when Paul was ripping on Mark, he acknowledged the possibility of genius status. How cute is that? I knew that I had to intervene because arguments that start with "Oh ya?" get dangerous really fast.
